COURSE DESCRIPTION

The objective of this course is for the students to develop an understanding of the concepts and techniques of financial management in the modern business enterprise. Financial decisions affect virtually all production, marketing, and management strategies. Evaluation of the financial risks, returns, and costs is the necessary framework in which all business policies must be examined. Students are expected to have a basic understanding of the concepts and methods of financial management by the completion of this course. Topics covered include: financial statement analysis, interest rates and valuing cash flows (time value of money; valuing stocks and bonds), investment decision rules and capital budgeting, risk and return (CAPM), cost of capital, and capital structure, etc..
